vmas-the performances

so i got bored doing nothing but blogging about the vmas, so i decided to tweet instead (i'm obsessed, i'm sorry, @spartygrl13). but i will review the performances!

MJ-obvi this one will win. madonna's speech was amazing and one of a kind. it really came from her heart and it brought tears to my eyes. the dancing to the mj videos was fantastic, but i started to cry a little bit because i realized that michael wasn't there dancing along. and then scream came on and i was cheering!! the break down with janet dancing and michael on screen in the background made me sob. it was just fantastic.

TAYLOR SWIFT-i won't say much about kanye here, except he is a dick. love how she showed him, not less than 10 minutes after his huge display of immaturity that she deserved her award! cute and fun and i love it!! not even a huge fan of her, but the subway thing was so cute, and she sounded GOOD for running through a subway car, up some stairs, and jumping on a car!! definitely did a great job.

LADY GAGA-i love me some gaga. i wish to god she would release "the fame" as her next single, as it is my fave song of hers, but oh well. paparazzi has a good beat. wasn't a fan of the wheelchair and the crutch, but thats just me being sensitive (i have a cousin who is physically disabled), but her performance was good. what was great was her voice. she actually sounds pretty great live, and i'm excited to see her live. the blood thing at the end, freaked me out. and her freak show outfits also scared me, but its gaga! plus she had the best acceptance speech of the night "for god and for the gays!"

GREEN DAY-love that they can rock just as hard core as they could 15 years ago. i know so many people can't stand green day, but i mean, how can you not love them? mike is one of my favorite bass players, tre cool is crazy (though he looks kinda sedated at the moment), and billie joe is just great. seriously.

BEYONCE-now i'm not saying kanye was totally wrong, because i think B deserved that award, lol. DAMN GIRL GET IT! ya she didnt sing a ton, but when she was it was on. and i'm sorry, i'd only love to be able to move half as good as she does. girl can shake it. she did great, nothing super crazy or exciting, but i loved how she multiplied the single ladies dancers by like a million! and good for her for bringing taylor up

MUSE-how was i not aware they were going to be on the vmas?? LOVE MUSE!! and apparently this is their first performance on american television....its about time america learns about them....i just love them...apparently they have a song in twilight and everyone is tweeting about they are just another stupid band, but i LOVE THEM!!!

PINK-so at first i didn't quite get the trapeze act, but holy shit she's singing while she's like flipping around and upside down and stuff. its not that exciting but its kinda wicked cool cuz she sounds great! her outfit on the other hand, yikes. just no. the weird colors and the pasty and just no.

JAYZ-jay will always be amazing. he def. tore up that performance, as did alicia. not sure if it was vma ending material though. i was expecting him to be dancing on a taxi or something, lol. oh well.

i cant wait for the MJ movie. and that is the end. thank you :)

vma blog - preshow

so bored, so i figured i'd write my 2 cents about the goings on.

first of all, they have apparently some chic from twilight (ashley greene? should i know her?) doing the fashion correspondence. doubt she is very qualified to do so, especially in the kinda stupid outfit she was wearing. oh well.

second of all, i'm fairly certain pink and shakira are wearing the exact same dress. and were literally interviewed one after the other. aaaawkward!

gaga is such a freak, i love it!! i can't even handle what she is wearing, and the fact that she is with kermit. its just so ridiculous and awesome!

taylor lautner is not that attractive. neither is the other twilight guy. taylor sounds like he is approx. 12 years old.

really, 10 nominees for breakthrough video? hoping the yeah yeah yeahs win...please...DAMN. some band i've never heard of won...apparently because they took off all their clothes in their video.

loooooooooove the commercial with the sequins gloves...love.

yes, knew it was taylor swift in the carriage. also love her dress. she's so damn adorable.

who the hell is justin bieber? or alexa chung? i like to think of myself as being on top of the pop culture, but i think i'm a bit too old for this.

i just LOVE kristen cavalleri. i've loved her since back in the laguna days, and she is way too fab.

OVER the movie remakes. fame? ugh. the remake of the fame song is horrendous. i mean like really horrendous. like i changed the channel for the last half. EW.

not gonna lie, i think that the michael jackson movie is not the greatest idea ever, but i absolutely will be there to see it. i'm probably going to cry during the tribute tonight. sigh.

beyonce looks hot. enough said.

lets start the show!

8 hours til freedom!

Thank the good lord!!!! Once I get out of work at 10 ten I am officially on vaca!! Not that its going to be much of an actual vacation per say, but I won't be at my place of employment, which is a-ok with me. There has been quite a lot of drama at work. That's all I feel like saying about that, because people have big mouths, and either repeat things I say or completely make things up, and get me in trouble.

Lots of plans for the vaca. Getting back into workout mode, cuz I haven't done much at all in the past few weeks. Lots of painting and unpacking and cleaning of the house as well. Hopefully getting the rest of the fence up in the backyard. Pretty much just finally making this place feel like home :)

I'm boring today, because all i can think about it getting out of work. I shall return when I feel more exciting :)

Welcome to Lansing!

Since 2002, I've held 7 different addresses, not including my old house where I grew up. I've called both East Lansing and Okemos home. I've had 5 different roommates. I've had my own room, shared a room, had my own bathroom, and shared a bathroom with 3 other girls. I've lived on campus and off. And now I've added an 8th address to this list, but I'm hoping to keep this one for at least a few years!!

Last Friday, Drew and I closed on our first house!! And I am now a resident of Lansing, MI. I don't think it's really set in that we are homeowners yet. I think it still just feels like I'm renting. We just need to finish unpacking first and foremost. My vacation starts on the 12th, which will mean I have a whole week of painting and cleaning and designing! I have big plans for some of the rooms! This is our kitchen, which is all part of the same room as our dining (directly to the right) and our living room (to the left in the photo). It's great that its so open, but leaves a bit of a design issue. Our living room (obvi once we get new furniture that isn't this 70s style hand me down crap) is going to have a relaxing beach feel, which sort of clashes with our fiesta style kitchen, lol. My plan is to paint the kitchen sort of a pumpkin orange, so it won't clash with the beige (uuuugh the whole house is beige, but we're going to leave the living room for now because it works). Not sure how I'm going to connect the dining room in all of this, so if you have ideas let me know :)

This is our only full bath. Our shower curtain is bright red, pink, lime green, yellow, and orange (god bless Drew for putting up with my taste haha) and our rugs are bright red. My thought is to go slightly bright in here and paint the walls a light lime green color, but I haven't decided yet.

This is our room. Obvi not a great picture, but our bedspread is seafoam green and white, and we also have lavender sheets and decor, so the goal is to paint this room a very pale lavender.

Other than that, the only other major plans are for the room I'm claiming as my office. It's going to get painted a silverish grey, with black and pink accents (duh).

Anyways, just talking about painting is making me a tired girl! Busy weekend of work ahead, but at least I have labor day off...so I can stay home..and labor...

Later kids :)
