Well race for the cure was a success! We had 16 total teammates (though only 14 made it to the race) and it was awesome! The broski had a bet w/me, whoever won the race between us 2 got to go to the survivor tent w/my mom (it was a special tent for survivors and ONE guest, all sorts of nice treats and nice and cool!). We ran together the whole race, and around the last curve he started to pull away a bit and i was HURTING bad. I hung on, kept waiting, and waiting, and finally at the last possible second i could, i kicked it in. I passed him a few years before the finish, and I don't even think he realized I was there. BOO YAH i won, haha.
I'm fairly certain I have some shape or form of asthma. I've noticed it doing certain activities in the past, but i had a ROUGH time catching my breath after I finished (apparently noticed by several people, as some volunteer rushed over to give me some water, haha). Twenty minutes later and my face was still beet red.
Just checked time results at playmakers.com, and despite still not being very fast at all, I was actually a whole 2 minutes faster than last year, so that's pretty cool. My goal for next year is to be under 33 minutes. Hmm...maybe I should run a 5k before then? We'll see!
Anyways, I think I'm gonna head to bed. Tomorrow is my only day off this week, so I'm gonna relax and enjoy it I think! Supposed to be crappy and rainy, but warm...but then again, today was supposed to be the same and it was pretty great! Later!
PS a big thanks to Drew, Mom, Jeremy, Ben (wish you would have been feeling better!), Dave, Lori, Davie, Kelly, Des, Derek, Buzz, Mary, Tier, Brig, Kevin, and Michael!
